When to go

We all navigate through life encountering storms in our way. Often we can work through them on our own, or with the help of our family and friends. However, there are times when you might feel stuck inside a storm and unable to move forward. You might experience a variety of psychological symptoms such as stress, anxiety, depression, and frustration and your usual tools might not be enough.

Sometimes the problems involve your relationships and conflict may arise with your spouse, your partner and other friends or relatives. Couples therapy provides the tools to address the problems from its source and to develop stronger, healthier and more loving relationships.

Lighthouse Psychologists will help you find a path through the storm toward safe harbor and beyond.

Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.

The therapy might be individual or include other family members.

Dr. Jaegerman has extensive experience working with a holistic/ integrative approach that highlights strengths and growth. The therapy is based on evidence based therapies tailored to the specific needs of each client.

Dr. Jaegerman is an experienced Couples therapy currently completing the highest level of Gottman therapy certification.

Dr. Jaegerman is also an Amdria Approved EMDR therapist.

What to Expect

Psychotherapy is a resource to help you build new emotional tools, supportive relationships and personal confidence. Psychotherapy may help you reduce the distressing symptoms you are experiencing, but more importantly, it will help you deal with you life, yourself and your relationships in a different way. The goal is to develop a different approach to those problems that keep reocurring.

Dr. Jaegerman's approach to psychotherapy is based on the integration of a variety of proven psychological interventions adjusted to the individual needs. The therapy is grounded on the Humanistic approaches to personal strengths and potential, psychodynamic/relational approaches and cognitive behavioral interventions (CBT).

Couples therapy integrates family systems approaches and current scientific research about healthy and successful couples into an individualized treatment plan.

Dr. Jaegerman is a Level 3 Gottam Couple's Therapist with more than 20 years of experience working with couples and families.

Individual, Couples and Families coming to therapy will work on strenghtening their emmotional connection and improving their interaction based on a systemic approach to family and relationships.

Dr. Jaegerman has worked extensively with people from many different countries, cultures and ethnicities.

Althought immigration, relocation or a cultural conflict may not be the reason for seeking help, it's often an important source of stress and an important factor in understaning oneself and relating to others.

Scheduling an Appointment

Appointments are usually scheduled once a week for 50 minutes Mondays through Fridays, at a time that is mutually convenient to both of us. Couples sessions are usually 75 minutes long.

The length of treatment (number of sessions) is up to you and will vary depending on the difficulties you're facing.

The cost of each 50-minute session is $200 payable by cash, Zelle, check or credit card. Dr. Jaegerman is a Medicare provider.
